Son Doesn't Always Get His Humor, Letterman Says
Published: Sep 11, 2007
David Letterman says the birth of his son, Harry, has made a "huge difference" in his life - but the 3-year-old doesn't always get daddy's sense of humor.
"Mommy has to tell him a lot that I'm just teasing," Letterman said Monday on the season premiere of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
It was a rare appearance for Letterman, host of CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman," on someone else's show.
Letterman, 60, said he struggles between using "patience or discipline" with Harry, his son with girlfriend Regina Lasko. He said Harry was placed on the "naughty chair" this weekend after misbehaving.
"He's still there," Letterman joked.
Kid Rock Cited In Spat At VMAs
Kid Rock was cited by police for misdemeanor battery after a tussle Sunday with Tommy Lee in the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 36-year-old rock-rapper received the citation after police reported to the Palms Hotel and Casino shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday and interviewed people at the scene, Officer Bill Cassell said.
Kid Rock wasn't taken into custody, he said.
Both Lee and Kid Rock are ex-husbands of Pamela Anderson, who was a presenter at the show.
MTV VJ Sway said during the post-show that he saw Kid Rock walk up to the 44-year-old Motley Crue drummer and "deck him."
Naughty SNL Skit Wraps Up An Emmy
The Emmys got edgy as an off-color "Saturday Night Live" video featuring Justin Timberlake and strategically placed gift boxes was honored at the creative arts ceremony.
"[Blank] in a Box," last December's fake music video performed by Timberlake and "SNL" cast member Andy Samberg, is about wrapping a certain part of the male anatomy and presenting it to a loved one as a holiday present.
"I think it's safe to say that when we first set out to make this song, we were all thinking 'Emmy!'" Samberg said in accepting the award Saturday for best original music and lyrics.
The Creative Arts Emmys, which recognize technical and other achievements for the 2006-07 season, will air Saturday on E!.
