'High School Musical' Star Confirms She Posed Nude

Published: Sep 8, 2007

Vanessa Hudgens' representative has confirmed that a nude photo circulating on the Internet is indeed the 18-year-old star of Disney Channel's wildly popular "High School Musical" movies.

"This was a photo which was taken privately," said Jill Fritzo, Hudgens' publicist, on Friday. "It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."

The photo shows the 18-year-old actress standing naked in what appears to be a bedroom, with a red curtain behind her.

The Disney Channel (part of the Walt Disney Co.) denied a published report that Hudgens will be dropped from the upcoming feature film "High School Musical 3." That movie is in development and negotiations with the stars are incomplete.

Disney had no further comment about the pictures.

Illness Can't Kill Pleshette's Spunk

Suzanne Pleshette is very much alive, and ever her saucy self.

In a rare public appearance Wednesday night for a 35th-anniversary tribute to "The Bob Newhart Show" (1972-78), her most enduring work, the veteran actress showed that a year of serious personal and health matters hasn't dampened her spitfire personality.

"I'm cancer-free, my [breasts] are great and ... I'm extremely, extremely rich," she responded to a question from The Associated Press, generating howls of laughter from a packed audience during a panel discussion featuring the cast of the beloved sitcom.

In August 2006, it was announced that the actress, 70, was being treated for lung cancer. In April, her actor-husband Tom Poston died from respiratory failure.

"It is not cancer," Newhart said. "She had an operation, they got it all. She then developed a pulmonary problem. She went in the hospital. When she went in the hospital, she caught pneumonia, so she went back in the hospital. It was touch and go. She's here tonight, and she told me, 'Yesterday, I couldn't have made it.'"

Olsen's Frowns Are For Photographers

You see a tabloid shot of Mary-Kate Olsen and think, "Why does she look so depressed?" Well, there's a reason for that.

"I don't want my picture taken," the 21-year-old actress tells Entertainment Weekly magazine. "The only time I think it's OK is at a red-carpet event or a photo shoot.

"So every time I see paparazzi, I cover my face so they don't get a picture, and I'm just 'the mean person who doesn't smile.'"

After a hiatus from acting, Olsen will portray an alluring Christian girl on Showtime's "Weeds." Her 10-episode arc begins Sept. 17.

Falco Moves From Jersey To Manhattan

With "The Sopranos" over, Edie Falco is going for laughs on NBC's "30 Rock." She will appear in three episodes of the sitcom about a "Saturday Night Live"-type TV show.

"I have laughed out loud at this show, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with such great comic actors," Falco said of "30 Rock" in a statement from NBC.

"We're thrilled to have such an amazing actress come join us," series creator and star Tina Fey said Thursday. "Also, a lot of guys on our crew want 'The Sopranos' ending explained to them."
