Clinton Campaign Video Clip Inspired By 'Sopranos' End
Published: Jun 20, 2007
The scene: a diner and a jukebox. A nostalgic song. A cut to black. It worked as a finale for "The Sopranos." It now marks a new beginning for "The Clintons."
Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign on Tuesday unveiled its new campaign song with a Web video that spoofs the final scene of the popular HBO mobster series.
The video and the announcement of Celine Dion's "You and I" as the official Clinton tune cap a monthlong interactive Internet campaign that drew more than a million viewers to the Clinton campaign Web site and to YouTube, the popular online video display room.
In the new Clinton clip, Hillary Clinton, like Tony Soprano, spins through the musical selections in a diner in Mount Kisco, N.Y., near her home in Chappaqua, as her husband, former President Clinton, quizzes her about the campaign and the song contest winner.
Sambora 'Feels Fine' After Detox
Richie Sambora opened up about his recent stay in a Los Angeles treatment facility on the "Today" show.
"I did detox," the Bon Jovi rocker, 47, told Matt Lauer after his band performed live on the morning show Tuesday.
"I didn't check into rehab," he clarified. "Instead of me heading into a place - I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together. I'm still in therapy and stuff like that, but it's good. I'm great. I feel fine."
Smith's Will Goes To Probate
Former foes Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern sat side-by-side in a courtroom Tuesday as a commissioner admitted Anna Nicole Smith's will to probate and ordered that Birkhead, father of the late model's daughter, would be guardian of the estate while Stern serves as executor of her will.
"The will dated July 30th, 2001, is admitted to probate," said Superior Court Commissioner Mitchell L. Beckloff.
The step begins a process in which Smith's assets will be identified and the court will determine how they should be distributed. The will left the entirety of her estimated $710,000 in assets to her now-deceased son.
Blitz Begins For Presley Plate
Organizers of a campaign to get an Elvis Presley specialty license plate may be rallying for the King, but they're taking a cue from the Beatles' "With a Little Help From My Friends."
Elvis Presley Enterprises and the Regional Medical Center at Memphis will launch a media blitz to attract the 1,000 purchasers they need for the state to begin production of the Elvis plate.
Proceeds from sales of the plate would benefit the medical center's Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center.
