ST. PETERSBURG - Police arrested three men after an hours-long standoff at a home in south St. Petersburg.
Police chased the men in a Cadillac Escalade about 2:45 p.m. Monday, police spokesman Bill Proffitt said. Two of the men were wanted in connection with an April 3 drive-by shooting in south St. Petersburg, Proffitt said.
The chase ended near a house on Fourth Avenue South near 50th Street South. The men fled the Escalade and holed up inside the house, Proffitt said.
Police surrounded them, called in a SWAT team and tried talking them out of the home, he said.
About 8 p.m., "all three came out of the house and gave up," he said.
Two of the men were arrested on warrants for attempted homicide. They are Joshua M. McClendon, 21, and Myreon Harrison, 22. Charges were pending late Monday on the third man, Joseph Siplin, 24.
